Deployment Support
Deployment Program
Deployments are a fact of life for Navy/Military families. As the demands placed on service members shift in response to world events, military families must adapt. The deployment support program focuses on four primary areas: deployment preparation, deployment support, homecoming/return and reunion (R&R), and reintegration. In addition, ongoing support is available for the commands and families.
Pre-deployment support ensures that military families are prepared for the emotional, financial, and legal challenges often faced during extended separations.
Deployment services are designed to empower military families by creating support networks, and developing tools to cope with deployments.
Homecoming programs help family members prepare for the return of their loved ones.
R&R programs enable military personnel to prepare for homecoming and adjust to being reunited.
Reintegration services help service members, and their families readjust to work and family life, and in coping with the effects of deployment.
Additionally, Individual Deployment Support Specialists (IDSS) provide relative information and referral services, supporting the unique needs of the Individual Augmentee (IA) Sailor and their families throughout the IA deployment process.
